Joann McPike: THINK Global School and Wrists for Rights

A global traveler and engaged member of the world community, Joann McPike is the founder of THINK Global School (TGS). In conjunction with TGS’s aims to empower students with a global awareness, students of the global education program have created Wrists for Rights.

The student-led Wrists for Rights organization uses 11 colored bracelets to promote rights for children throughout the world. The bracelets use the 10 articles determined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, as well as one specifically designed by TGS students. All proceeds from the sales of bracelets are donated to I’m Colourblind, which aims to advocate for children’s rights awareness.

Wherever TGS leads its students, Wrists for Rights follows to spread awareness and raise funding. As TGS students travel to 12 countries every four years, the Wrists for Rights initiative has the opportunity to make a major impact around the world.
